Privacy & GDPR
Cition is committed to protecting your personal data and to complying with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data-protection law. This notice explains what we process, why, and the rights you have.
1. Who we are
Cition (“we”, “us”) is the data controller. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@cition.net.
2. What we collect
- Information you send us — such as your name and email address when you contact us.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and basic request logs, processed by our server and reverse proxy to keep the service secure and available.
We do not run advertising or analytics trackers, and we never sell personal data.
3. Cookies & third parties
Our public website sets no tracking or advertising cookies. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address in order to serve the font files. Our partner portal uses a single strictly-necessary session cookie for sign-in.
4. Why we process data (legal basis)
- To respond to your enquiries — steps prior to a contract / legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f)).
- To keep our systems secure and prevent abuse — legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To meet legal and accounting obligations — legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
5. Sharing & processors
We share data only with service providers that help us operate Cition — such as hosting and email delivery. They act on our instructions under appropriate agreements.
6. International transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law (for example, accounting records).
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data; to have it corrected or erased; to restrict or object to processing; to receive a portable copy; and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@cition.net.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.
9. Security
We protect data with encryption in transit (HTTPS/HSTS), access controls, hashed credentials and continuous monitoring.
10. Changes
We may update this notice from time to time; the date above shows the latest revision.
